It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Adele Walnoha, who left this world on Sunday, October 13, 2024. She is survived by her devoted loving husband, Bud Walnoha, whom she often referred to as “the love of her life”, and whom she married later in life. She is also survived by her children from her first marriage: Ernie Sioson, Jr., Adelina Hudson, Jose Sioson, Ernadel Sioson, David Sioson, and Clarinda Mader.
Adele was a trailblazer, a courageous woman who redefined what it meant to live life on her own terms. In a time when career women from a traditional Asian household were rare, and societal expectations were strict, Adele defied the odds. She married at the young age of 19, balancing the roles of a mother, and a provider, all while pursuing her education in the medical profession. Raising six children, she was the backbone of her family financially. She excelled at her profession becoming a Director of Nurses and dedicated most of her career to caring for the elderly. She often spent the time most with those who had the least or no visitors showing much compassion and taking the time to let them know they still mattered and were loved.
Adele’s journey was one of transformation and at the young age of 68, she made the brave decision to start over, leaving behind her past and embracing a future filled with possibility and love. Her courage and hope to find happiness amidst her past meant walking away from all that was familiar to her. Her decision to embrace the unknown gained her 16 ½ wonderful years married to her soulmate, Bud Walnoha, who loved her ferociously and stood by her side until the very end.
She was very proud of each of her many grandkids and great grandkids and often spoke of each of them often. She embodied a generous spirit extending herself not only to her husband and family but to anyone she met that needed a helping hand. Her empathy and compassion showed no bounds.
Adele’s legacy is one of grace, perseverance, and the belief that it is never too late to find happiness. She leaves behind not just memories but a shining example of how to live with purpose, love with abandon, and embrace life’s second chances.
Her spirit and her story will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know her.
Rest in peace, Adele. You have shown us what it means to truly live
