Ray Witt

Alan Ray Witt, age 64, of Quitman, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2023 in Sulphur Springs.  Ray was born on March 17, 1959 in Dallas County to the late Charlie Witt Jr. and Jessie (Gilbreath) Witt. 

Ray was a dedicated warehouse worker for Sherwin Williams in Garland for 15 years. In 2014 he was unable to work any longer and moved to Quitman. Ray’s interests included a passion for sports.  He was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the Texas Rangers.  He could often be found watching or listening to his favorite teams and cheering them on, especially when the Rangers made it to the World Series! Ray had a love for animals as well, and treated his dogs as if they were his children.

Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Jessie Witt; grandparents, Perry and Era Belle Gilbreath; and numerous aunts and uncles.

Left to cherish his memory are a host of cousins and extended family members. 

Graveside service for Ray Witt will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at Yantis Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will be Ray's first cousins.
