Annabell “Ann” Cottrell, age 89, of Quitman, passed away Monday morning, June 21, 2021 in Tyler.
Ann was born on November 21, 1931 in Oklahoma to the late Isaac Daniel and Martha Mae Wages. She married the love of her life, Raymond Edward Cottrell, on October 14, 1950. In 1968, they moved from Dallas to Quitman. The couple spend 66 wonderful years together before Raymond’s passing in 2016.
Ann was a member of Myrtle Springs Baptist Church in Quitman. She was very active in the Young At Hearts Ministry at the church. She loved to work in her flowerbeds. She had a green thumb and was a member of the Garden Club in Quitman. Her hobbies included birdwatching from her front porch, saltwater fishing, and shopping at garage sales.
She greets in Heaven her husband, Raymond Edward Cottrell; son, Billy Ray Cottrell; parents, Isaac and Martha Mae Wages; stepmother, Eunice Wages; sister, Nelda Stanley; and an infant brother.
Left to cherish her memory are her granddaughters, Jennefer Bruner and husband Steven, and Angela Cottrell, both of Lindale; five great grandchildren, Melinda Grace, Corey Houston, Chase Houston, Connor Houston, and Matthew Bruner; several nieces, and extended family and friends.
Funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 AM Friday, June 25, 2021 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Byron Howard officiating. Graveside service will follow at Myrtle Springs Cemetery with Pastor David Cook officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Thursday evening at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers are her great grandsons: Corey Houston, Chase Houston, Connor Houston, and Matthew Bruner.
