Archie Dell Love, a devoted husband, loving father, and skilled computer technician, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2023, at the age of 76. He was born on February 9, 1947, in Holladay, TN, to his parents, Odes Love and Macie Beakley.
Archie was the youngest of nine siblings and grew up surrounded by a close-knit family. After graduating high school, he enlisted in the Army in January 1968, serving his country with honor during the Vietnam War.
Following his military service, Archie pursued his passion for electronics and obtained an Associate's Degree from DeVry University and later embarked on a successful career as a computer technician. Archie's concluded his working career at True Value in Quitman.
In 1983, he married his beloved wife, Jana (Bernard) Love, in Irving, TX. Archie and Jana later settled in Mineola, TX, nearly 25 years ago. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Outside of his professional life, Archie was an active member of the National Rifle Association (NRA) and the Winnsboro Gun Club. An avid gun collector, Archie appreciated the craftsmanship and history behind each firearm in his collection.
In his free time, he could often be found tending to his yard. Archie was a hands-on individual who relished any opportunity to work with his skilled hands. He found joy in woodworking and creating beautiful stained-glass pieces.
Of all the titles he held, Archie adored being called "Papaw" by his beloved grandchildren. He cherished the time spent with them, showering them with love, wisdom, and a kind heart.
Archie Dell Love leaves behind a legacy of love, dedication, and hard work. He is preceded in death by his parents, seven siblings, and father-in-law Bobbie “Bob” Bernard.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Jana Love of Mineola; mother-in-law Tawana (Holland) Bernard; his sons Michael Lyons of Irving, and Robert Love and wife Sarah of Mineola; sister, Barbara Ross and husband Harold of Paris, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Gunnar and Meadow; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
