Betty Goggans

Betty Lynn Goggans, age 72, of Mineola, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 16, 2021. Betty Goggans was born in Quitman on August 29, 1948 to the late Charlie B. and Gladys (Pritchett) Cameron. She lived most of her life in Wood County. In 1989 she married Ron Goggans in Mineola.  The couple spent 32 wonderful years together before his passing in 2017. Betty was a huge Elvis fan and was a collector of frogs.  In her free time, she enjoyed frequenting the boats in Shreveport or working in her yard.  She loved her family dearly, and was always happy and smiling. In Heaven she greets her parents, Charlie and Gladys Cameron; husband, Ron Goggans; and Shirley Roberts, who was her good friend and later her caretaker for 10 years. Left to cherish her memory are her siblings, Bobby C. Cameron and wife Kathy of Quitman, Geneva Boman of Lindale, and Glen Cameron and wife Paula of Rockport; stepdaughters, Mandy Dillman of Austin and April Smith of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Funeral service for Betty is scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Lowe-Gardner Funeral Chapel with Brother Ronnie Derryberry officiating.  Graveside service will follow at Cedars Memorial Gardens in Mineola. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Serving as pallbearers are her great-nephews: Eric Wildt, Carson Wildt, Steven Golightly, Andrew Golightly, Colby Golightly, and Ross Cameron.
