Funeral services for Billy Joe Britton 85, Quitman, Texas are scheduled for 10:00 A.M. Thursay, August 16, 2012 at Lowe Funeral Home Chapel of the Chimes with Brother Fred Morrow officiating. Family will receive friends Wed. evening August 15th at the funerl home. Burial will follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery .

Billy Joe was born May 21, 1927 in Quitman to Jeff and Iona Gilbreath Britton. He lived in Wood County all of his life and was a Baptist. He was a member of the Quitman Flora Masonic Lodge #119, Mineola Masonic Lodge #502 and the Quitman Chapter 695-Order of the Eastern Star.

He is preceded by his parents; step-father; Lucius Kirkland, a granddaughter Peri Truett, and 1 son; Bryan Britton. He is retired from Farmland/Gas plant as an operator. He is survived by his wife, Nell Britton, Quitman;3 Sons: Randy D. Donoho, Ft. Worth, Joe Tom Britton and Stephanie, Quitman; Tim Prewitt, Oklahoma. 3 Daughters: Janet Lee Stout and Doug, Camrose, Canada; Cynthia Jane Gossett, Rio Vista, Texas; Melissa Birchfield, Yantis, Texas. 14 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren and a large extended family.
