Edith Roberts, 83, beloved grandmother, wife, mother, and sister, was called to her eternal resting place on March 10, 2024. She entered this world on December 17, 1940, in Yantis, TX to Marvin Lee “Pud” Pruden and Mary Margaret (Mansel) Pruden. Edith lived in Yantis her entire life.
Edith’s worked many years as a seamstress for HD Lee’s in Sulphur Springs and then retired later in life. Edith leaves behind a legacy of love that extends beyond her professional career. She was a faithful member of Forever Young Activity Center and the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed frequenting garage sales, camping, and spending time with all her grandkids. The grandkids fondly referred to her as “Mamaw” and she will be deeply missed by her surviving family members.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Dock” Roberts; and her parents, Pud and Mary Pruden.
Among those grieving her loss are her beloved children, James C. Roberts and wife Carolyn of Yantis, and Debra Renae Wilson of Yantis; four grandchildren, Cindy Swaim and husband Brandon of Yantis, Stephanie James of Yantis, Brittany Powell of Yantis, Nikki Maples and husband Jake of Bullard; nine great-grandchildren, Brianna, Labria, Likiya, Tyrianna, Landen, Chloey, Casen, Grayson, and Cooper; and her brother, Ernest Leonard “Pete” Pruden of Yantis.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Forever Young Activity Center in Quitman.Saturday, April 6, 2024
