Edward Virgil Tier, Jr.

Funeral service for Edward Virgil Tier, Jr., 77 of Quitman, TX is scheduled for 10 A.M. Saturday, October 27, 2018 at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Quitman, TX with Brother John Skelton officiating. Burial will follow service in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Wood County, TX. Visitation will be held from 7 to 9 P.M. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Mr. Tier was born January 21, 1941 in Hollywood, FL to Edward Virgil Tier and Lawana McDonald Tier and died October 22, 2018 in Tyler, TX. He lived in Quitman since 1980 coming from Lewisville, TX. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for 16 years and later worked 12 years for Wood County precinct 3 in road maintenance and was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years; Marjorie Tier, Quitman, 2 sons Mike Tier and wife Carolyn of Winnsboro; Mark Tier and wife Teresa of Sulphur, OK; daughter Ladeana Schmidt and husband Tim of Pontiac, MI; brother Michael Tier of Leary, GA; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Tier, Mark Tier, Shannon Tier, Shane Tier, Robert Kinsey, Tim Schmidt, and Lieuwe Bellenga.
