Gary Bruce Holtman, age 65, of Alba returned to his Heavenly home on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
Gary was born in Tyler, TX on August 21, 1956, to parents William Ellis and Hattie Jane (King) Holtman. He grew up in Quitman, where he graduated high school. He then attended college in Dallas, Texas. Gary was a very shy, mellow, and introverted person, but loved nature and to drive around on the backroads and enjoy the view. On March 17, 2009, he married his love, Margaret Faber. They moved to Alba, Tx where they farmed for 10 years. Gary loved being with his family and was honored to be called “Grandpa Gary.”
Gary is preceded by his parents William and Hattie Holtman; and his brothers Fred and Norman Holtman.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 12 years Margaret Holtman of Alba, TX; two stepchildren Molly Curry of Lewisville, Tx, and Mark Curry of Grand Prairie, Tx; two nieces Amy Lynn Holtman and Lee Ann Price; numerous step- grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; and many other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
Memorial service for Mr. Holtman will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 20, 2022 at First United Methodist Church Quitman with Rev. Larry Pittman officiating. Burial will follow at Clover Hill Cemetery in Quitman.
Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 PM, Thursday, May 19, 2022 at St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church in Mineola.
In lieu of flowers the family wishes that donations be made to the Texas Food Bank in honor of Gary.
