George Lee Dusenbury, also known as “Pepa”, age 83 of Quitman, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, in Quitman.

George was born on October 16, 1939, in Greene County, Missouri to the late George and Iva Dusenbury.

At the age of 18, George enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served this country honorably for four years. On November 6, 1964, George married the love of his life, Patsy Sue Knowles in Irving, Texas. Together, the Dusenbery’s welcomed two daughters, Carol and Debbie.

George was employed at Deluxe Check Printing. Upon retiring, George and Pat moved down to Quitman to be closer to friends. They lived in Quitman for 20 years.

Some of George’s favorite hobbies were camping, hunting, fishing, and him and Pat used to bowl for a league.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, George and Iva Dusenbury, and one brother.

Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 58 years, Patsy Dusenbury; two daughters, Carol Johnson of Bedford, Texas, and Debbie Moore and husband Dwain of Rowlett; two sisters, Karyl Dusenbury of Missouri, and Pat Crane and husband Skip of Missouri; four grandchildren, Anthony, Ashley, Curtis, and Kaeli; four great-grandchildren, Elijah, Blakeley, Finley, and Marley; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
