Glendon Ray Turbeville

Glendon Ray Turbeville, of Pine Mills, Texas, passed away on March 4, 2025. He was born on September 22, 1941, in Dallas, Texas, and was a longtime resident of Wood County.

Glen attended John Tyler High School in Tyler, Texas where he played football and formed lifelong friendships with his teammates and coaches. He later earned a degree in Business from North Texas State University and built a career with Montgomery Ward Department Store. Glen loved his country and all that made it great.

In his early years, Glen was a watermelon farmer, a passion that evolved into a lifelong love for gardening. He took great joy in teaching his grandchildren the art of growing seedlings and planting gardens, always ensuring an abundance of homegrown tomatoes in every variety. When he wasn’t tending to his garden, Glen could be found fishing for crappie or chasing after a five-pound bass—if not reeling one in, then surely telling a great story about the one that got away.

Glen is survived by his brothers, Forrest and Homer, and the mother of his children, Linda. He leaves behind a loving family, including his son, Todd, and daughter, Julie, as well as six cherished grandchildren: Tyler, David, Adam, Meggie, Conner, and Madeline. He was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of his great-grandson, Hansford, who is on the way.

His legacy of love, laughter, and storytelling will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Celebration of life will be announced at a later time.
