James Edward McCarty

James Edward McCarty passed away on November 30, 2023, at the age of 73 in Quitman, Texas.

He was born on August 4, 1950, in Dallas, Texas, to Mack and Lela (Cox) McCarty.  James was a Master Plumber owning his own company for many years serving the Rowlett and Dallas area. His work ethic could never be questioned, as he was a believer in working hard to support his family.  After working in the metro area for so many years, James rewarded himself with retirement on Lake Fork just a year and a half ago.  He did enjoy the lake life and pursuing Lake Fork bass!

James was preceded in death by his beautiful wife, Carolyn Ann (Logan) McCarty in August of 2002, and he was also preceded in death by his parents.

Surviving family includes son, Brian McCarty and his wife Jamie of Prosper, Texas; son, John McCarty, of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Landry McCarty, Erica Cleveland and her husband Jake, and Avery Greco and her husband Paul, as well as great-grandchildren, Judah and Lyla.  James is also survived by his sister, Patsy Reagan and her husband Michael of North Richland hills.

To honor and celebrate James' life, a Funeral Service will be held on December 9, 2023, at 11:00 am at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.  The McCarty family welcomes you for a time of visitation before the service at beginning at 10:00 am.  Immediately following the Funeral Service, burial will be held at Lake Fork Memorial Cemetery.
