Jim P Farmer, age 77, of Mineola, passed away Tuesday morning July 27, 2021 in Tyler, TX and joined his Heavenly Father.
He is proceeded in death by his parents, Bud and Mildred Farmer, wife Doris Farmer, one sister Mary Ganey and a brother George Farmer. Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 22 years Carolyn Farmer of Mineola, two daughters, Cristy Kluener and husband Dan of Terrell, and Kim Gann of Aurora, CO, four siblings, Mike Farmer and wife Nancy of Simms, Sarah Smith and husband Sam of Alba, Mace Farmer and wife Vicky of Winnsboro, Brenda Click and husband James of New Braunfels and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Jim was born in Sheridan, AR July 15, 1944 to Bud and Mildred Farmer. Jim’s parents moved the family to Pleasant Grove, TX when he was a child. Jim was the last graduating class from Rylie High School class of 1962.
Jim established, owned and operated ACE Electric of Dallas Inc. as an electrical contractor for over 30 + years. He retired June 30, 2009. Jim loved to deer hunt, fish, and travel in his camper and restore Street Rods/Classic cars. He also sponsored a little league baseball team.
Jim and Carolyn owned a ranch in the Texas Hill Country for several years where they deer hunted and spent the majority of their spare time. The most rewarding experience Jim ever had was volunteering the ranch for Operation Orphans every year. This is a non-profit organization that provides children from orphanages and foster homes in Texas a unique and wonderful outdoor experience by sponsoring hunting and fishing trips in the Texas Hill Country. Jim always felt blessed to know that he could make a difference in someone else’s life.
Visitation will be 3:00 - 4:00PM followed by a celebration of Jim’s life at 4:00pm on Monday September 13, 2021 at Hainesville Baptist Church located at 3368 FM 49 Mineola, TX. Jim and Carolyn made Hainesville Baptist Church their church home.
