Joyce Marie Bussell

Joyce Marie Bussell, 87, entered into the warm embrace of our Lord and savior on July 19, 2022 in Dallas, Texas.

Born December 12, 1934, in Commerce, Tx, she was the daughter of the late George Albert and Jeffey Lee Jenkins. Joyce grew up on a farm with a large family of 17 brothers and sisters. She married Andrew A. “Rabbit” Bussell on May 24, 1955. In 1971 they moved to Yantis, Tx, where she worked as a homemaker. In 1972 she began work as a Teachers Aid at Quitman Elementary School  where she worked over 30 years. Joyce loved teaching and helping the kids succeed. She loved spending time with her family. When she had a spare minute you could find her gardening or crafting. She always had a kind word  and smile for all she met. She put others before herself. She carried Christ in her heart.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband, Andrew “Rabbit” Bussell; parents, George Albert and Jeffey Lee Jenkins; and one son, Brian Bussell.

Left to cherish her memories are her 2 children, Marty Bussell and wife Judy of Yantis, and Janice Clary and Steven of Sunnyvale; several siblings; 7 grandchildren, Andrew Gleitz, Landon Bussell, Alexus Clary, Iain Clary, Hayden Lewis, Spencer Lewis, and Taylor Pennington; 6 great grandchildren, Eli Gleitz, Jaxon Gleitz, Kagan Bussell, Tenzlie Bussell, Adleigh Bussell, Holden Bussell; and several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends who will miss her dearly.

Graveside service for Joyce is scheduled for 7:00 AM, Friday, July 22, 2022 at Yantis Cemetery with Pastor David Griffin officiating.
