Martha Cox, 86, returned to her Heavenly home on March 24, 2023.

Martha Jane Cox was born on November 7, 1936, in Caddo, Oklahoma to parents Gene and Irma Crowley Lobb. On January 31, 1981, she married Jack Cox. They ran a restaurant in Quitman called Coney Island together and also owned a gas station. Martha was a member of the Cartwright Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Gene and Irma Lobb; and three siblings, Roy Gene Lobb, Joanne Williams, and Betty Waller.

She is survived by her loving husband Jack Cox; two children, Diane Smith of Mineola and Mike LaRoe of Canton; two sisters, Judy Nurnberg of Exie, Kentucky, and Pamela Mollnener and husband Jerry of Escondido, California; two brothers, Jerry Lobb and wife Marlene of Valley Center, California, and J.D. Lobb and wife Cathy of Ruidoso, New Mexico; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members and friends who will miss her dearly.  

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Martha can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, Il 60601.

Visitation for Martha will be held from 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2023 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations.

Funeral service for Martha will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, April 3, 2023 at Lowe-Gardner Funerals & Cremations with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola.
