Patricia Maxine Caufield, age 88, of Quitman, Texas, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2025, in Sulphur Springs, Texas. She was born on February 12, 1937, in Nashville, Arkansas, to Glenn and Ruby Dailey.
Patricia, a homemaker and devoted wife and mother, spent much of her life caring for her family. She moved to Quitman in 2018 from Texarkana, Texas. On April 8, 1995, she married Louis Albert Caufield Sr., who, along with her first husband, Lawrence Orr, preceded her in death.
A devoted member of the Jehovah's Witness faith, Patricia enjoyed many things, including tending to her flower beds and surrounding herself with plants. Her home was always filled with the beauty of nature, and she took great pride in her collection of plants on the patio. At one point in her life, Patricia worked as a seamstress. Above all, she adored her grandchildren, and her home was often full of love and laughter from her grandkids, who affectionately called her “Mamaw.”
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Ruby Dailey; her daughter, Susan Yarbrough; her grandson, Chad Young; and her husbands, Lawrence Orr and Louis Albert Caufield Sr.
She is survived by her two children, Patricia Hagle of Quitman, TX, and Les Orr and wife Chey of Hooks, TX; two sisters, Martha and Joette; eight grandchildren: Gary Godwin, Jeremy Young, Paul Orr, Patricia Duncan, Brandy Orr, Amber Foster, Heath Taylor, and Michael Stapp; 13 great-grandchildren, 14 great-great-grandchildren, and one on the way, as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks for donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in Patricia’s memory.
