Robert Eugene Dempsey

Robert Eugene Dempsey, 87, was born April 7, 1928 in Carbon County, Wyoming to George and Murel Dempsey and died January 11, 2016 in Quitman. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Ida Dempsey, and one son Robert Dempsey.

He lived in Quitman 19 years, moving here from Ft Collins, Colorado. He was employed as a butcher for a meat company, was a US Navy veteran, and a member of First Baptist Church of Quitman.

He is survived by his 4 stepsons, Al Messersmith of Oregon, Ron Messersmith of Washington, Bob Messersmith of Kansas, and Gary Messersmith of Dallas; 6 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
