Rosella Oglesby

On November 21, 2022, Rose watched the sun rise from Glory, in the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Rose was born on November 3, 1932, to the late Homer C. and Luttie Moore Ford in Paron, Arkansas, and attended Paron and Fountain Lake (Hot Springs) schools.

Throughout her life she worked a variety of jobs including sawmill cook, factory assembly line, retail sales, door to door sales, and for most of her career, in sales of pre-need funeral arrangements and burial markers. She regularly won sales awards and was often enlisted as a trainer or manager.

Rose was married to Rev. Luther Oglesby for 56 years, and supported his gospel ministry for 48 years, from his Salvation until his death. Throughout his ministry and beyond, she taught Sunday School, mentored Christian women, and hosted countless visiting ministers and evangelists.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rev. Luther Oglesby, her sisters, Othelda Grace, Georgetta Hester, and Willie Jeff Rickard.

She leaves behind her children, Carlos Oglesby, Vickie Leatherwood, Regina (Malcolm) Terrell, Phillip Oglesby of Quitman, Tommy (Risa) Oglesby of Mount Pleasant, TX, and John (Rhonda) Oglesby of Wake Forest, NC; as well as her seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, loved ones, and friends.

Funeral Services for Rosella Oglesby will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 25, 2022, at South Jefferson Baptist Church in Mount Pleasant, Texas, with Dr. Tommy Oglesby and Dr. B.J. (Rocky) Maddox officiating. The family will receive friends one hour before the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. at the church. Graveside Service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Mineola, Texas.

Serving as pallbearers are Ashley Oglesby, Luke Oglesby, Derek Crawford, Lincoln Oglesby, Isaiah Morales, and Luke Thomas Oglesby.
