Walker Alan Weems

On March 5, 2025, at 12:48 a.m., Walker Alan Weems was born into the loving arms of his parents, Heather and Jody Weems. Weighing 6 lbs, 2 oz and measuring 19.5 inches long, he was fearfully and wonderfully made. Though his time on this earth was brief, his life was filled with purpose and love.

At 28 weeks gestation, Walker received a very rare diagnosis of DMJ dysplasia and doctors said he might not survive birth or take a breath on his own. But being a tiny warrior in God’s great strength, he defied expectations and gifted his family with 47 precious minutes – time filled with love, whispered prayers, and the warmth of his parents’ embrace. His grandparents, aunts and uncles were there to welcome him with love, surrounding him with the presence of family who had prayed for him from the very beginning. His tiny hands were held, his life was cherished and his spirit was cradled in love until he was carried home to Heaven.

Walker’s time on earth was a testament to faith – faith that even the smallest life can move mountains and that God’s plan is always greater than our understanding. He was a precious gift from above, a reminder that God’s goodness is not measured in time but in the love He places in our lives, no matter how brief. Though our hearts grieve, we take comfort in knowing that Walker’s last breath on earth was followed by his first breath in Heaven, where he is now made whole and perfect in the presence of Jesus.

Walker was with us for only a moment, but his life had great meaning and changed us all. He was the first born and deeply loved by his parents, Jody and Heather. He was the first grandchild of his grandparents Jeff and Kim Osborne, and the second grandson of Don and Tanya Weems. He is also survived by his great grandparents R.T. and Sherry Bridges, Billy Weems, Susan Weedon, Joyce Northcutt, and Phillip Osborne; aunts and uncles Shelby Osborne, Jack and Ellika Bolton, Josh and Skylar Weems and their son Weston Weems. In addition to these, Walker was prayed for and loved by a large family of aunts, uncles and cousins.

All of his family takes comfort and rests in the promises of God’s Word, knowing they will see him again one day.

A private graveside service will be held in his honor.
