Weeda Cartwright

Weeda Marie Cartwright, age 89, of Quitman, passed away at her home on Saturday morning, April 17, 2021. Memorial service for Mrs. Cartwright is scheduled for 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Lowe-Gardner Funeral Home with Missionary Gary Hampton officiating. Weeda Cartwright was born in Quitman on April 24, 1931 to the late Mark and Lois (Deuson) Hines.  Weeda was a resident of Garland for many years, and on November 8, 1947 she married James Cartwright. To this marriage, five children were born. Soon after the passing of Mr. Cartwright, Weeda moved to Quitman. She was a homemaker most of her life and loved to garden and spend time working in her flower beds. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Cartwright in 2007; her parents; and a daughter, Pamela Gayle Cartwright. Left to cherish her memory are her four children, Beverly Hampton and husband Gary of North Pole, Alaska, James Cartwright Jr. of Quitman, Herman “Ed” Cartwright and wife Jamie of Texarkana, and Cindy Anderson and husband Ronny of Kaufman; 10 grandchildren, Seth Hampton, Taylor Cartwright, Roberta Neil, Tristan Cartwright, Lindsey Cartwright, Stephen Cartwright, Kayleigh Cartwright, Cody Cartwright, Scott Anderson, and Josh Anderson; and 14 great grandchildren.
