Bruce's Story:
Born on November 4, 1933, in Madill, Oklahoma, to Buford Lonnie Baker and Myrtle Mae (Peacock) Baker. After graduating high school, Bruce enlisted in the United States Army, where he proudly served as a Sergeant from October 4, 1955, until his honorable discharge on September 8, 1958. He then returned to Texas A&M to finish his degree in Mechanical Engineering. His education laid the foundation for a successful career in aeronautical engineering working for companies including LTV, Vought Aircraft Company, and Bell Helicopter.
Bruce found joy in life's simple pleasures. After retiring to Holly Lake, Texas, he became an avid golfer who enjoyed the camaraderie of the game. He also loved travelling and playing cards and dominoes, often sharing laughter-filled moments with friends and family around the table. Bruce was a faithful member of the Holly Lake Church of Christ. Above all else, Bruce treasured the time he spent with his loved ones.
His legacy of kindness, dedication to family, and zest for life will be remembered by all who knew him.
Carolyn's Story:
Born on May 12, 1937, in Camden, Arkansas, to Walter and Norma (Tyson) Ainsworth and grew up alongside her brother, Bill. Carolyn graduated from Harding University in Arkansas in 1959 with a degree in Elementary Education. She later earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Amber University. A devoted educator, Carolyn spent her career as a schoolteacher in the DeSoto Independent School District, where she touched countless lives with her passion for learning and commitment to her students.
After retiring in 1997 to Holly Lake Ranch, Texas, she embraced an active and fulfilling retirement. Carolyn enjoyed travelling, playing Mahjong with friends, participating in water aerobics, golfing, and immersing herself in books as an avid reader. Carolyn was a committed member of the Holly Lake Church of Christ. Above all else, she cherished the time spent with her family and friends.
May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her and inspire others to live with the same grace and joy she shared throughout her life.
