History

In 2020, Richard and Rebecca Gardner entered into their purchase agreement with Dwayne Lowe to take over ownership of Lowe Funeral Home and established the Lowe-Gardner brand. With many family-owned funeral homes, the trend is to sell to out-of-town corporations. That means funeral homes answer to investor concerns instead of their community. The Gardner family is proud of their friendship with Mr. Lowe and even prouder to continue his tradition of family-owned funeral service in Wood County.

The Gardner family is proud to offer a full-service facility. In August of 2022, construction was completed on the Wood County Cremation Service crematory building on the Lowe-Gardner property. Wood County families now have confidence in knowing their loved one stays in our care. There is no third party involved. We own our crematory and operate at the highest industry standards set by the National Funeral Directors Association and the Cremation Association of North America. Our cremation facility is open to public inspection and specifically designed to accommodate faith customs involving the cremation process.
